I have two seasons where I seem to catch up on reading – winter when I’m nesting and summer when I’m outdoors as much as possible. Here’s my list of music memoirs I’m either reading again or missed the first time!
A Natural Woman: A Memoir – Carole King
A great read from one of the most successful female songwriters of our time.
Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink – Elvis Costello
I’m excited to read this. Elvis is such a great lyricist, I’m curious to see if he’s as good a writer in this forum. The book covers his childhood, his early success and his songwriting process.
Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir – Linda Ronstadt
I grew up wanting to be Linda. From her beginnings in Tucson to her rise in popularity in the SoCal scene, Linda smashed one glass ceiling after another in a male dominated music environment. Inspiring!
After I finish these, it’s on to some murder mysteries!
What are you reading?
