Robbie Robertson, one of the driving forces behind The Band in the 1960s and 70s, was born in Toronto to a mother with Cayuga and Mohawk heritage, on July 5, 1943. Robertson has been inducted into the Rock and Roll and Canadian Music Halls of Fame, and has worked extensively with Martin Scorcese on film soundtracks including Raging Bull, Casino, The Departed, and The Irishman since his time with The Band.
