In 1997, Bruce Springsteen contributed a recording of a traditional song to a tribute album for Pete Seeger, then approaching 8o years old. It was an introduction to Seeger’s music for Springsteen, and one that kicked off a fascination that ultimately led to an album’s worth of Seeger’s music recorded by Springsteen.
