On his recent LP “Memorial,” on Colorfield Records, multi-instrumentalist and composer Rich Hinman creates an arresting collage containing elements of electronica, psychedelia, and searching improvisation, with Hinman’s pedal steel as the (mostly) primary voice. Here he debuts a new band of like-minded explorers featuring local heroes Kevin Barry (Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash) on guitar and lap steel, Zachariah Hickman (Josh Ritter, Ray LaMontagne) on acoustic bass and John Sands (Aimee Mann) on drums.
