Giving to 501(c)(3) UMass Foundation
WUMB Radio is part of the University of Massachusetts Boston, which is a 501(c)(1) state institute with the Tax ID 04-3167352. Taxpayers are allowed to claim charitable contribution deductions to UMass Boston in the same manner as if UMass Boston were a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
However, if donors prefer to contribute to WUMB through a 501(c)(3) organization, they are able to do so through the University of Massachusetts Foundation, Inc.
Some organizations, such as Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), prefer to contribute to 501(c)(3) organizations. In this case, you may use the information below for the UMass Foundation, Inc.:

Please make sure to indicate in the notes/memo/purpose that the donation is for “WUMB at UMass Boston”. And you may also include your Member Number if you have one, so we can more easily match the donation to your account. Please note that, when giving via DAFs, the entirety of your contribution must be tax-deductible, and so you will not be able to request any tangible gifts (CDs, books, etc) in return. However, Basic Membership is considered insubstantial, so you will still have access to the website benefits such as the online giveaways and audio archives.
