In a program entitled “Echoes Across Horizons: American Voices in Classical Piano”, Philadelphia-based pianist Junwen Liang plays works by Amy Beach, Florence Price, William Grant Still, Stephen Hough, Paul Harvey Aurandt, and Tan Dun.
Junwen has performed as soloist with the Central Texas Philharmonic, Penn State Philharmonic, and Ithaca College Symphony, with broadcasts on WRTI and KPR Public Radio. An accomplished chamber musician, he won the Peabody Institute’s Clara Ascherfeld Award and participated in Carnegie Hall’s Master Class Series alongside Ludwig Quandt of the Berliner Philharmoniker. Over the past two seasons, Junwen presented more than 50 recitals across North America and China, including debuts at Saint Thomas Church in New York, Boston Court Pasadena, Canada’s Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society, and the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. His debut EP, Colombine, featuring works by Amy Beach and Florence Price, was released in June 2026.
