THE BEATLES AT THE BOSTON GARDEN!

CELEBRATE WITH US 58 YEARS LATER TO THE DAY!

Fifty-eight years ago on Sept 12th,1964, The Beatles performed at the Boston Garden to a sold-out house of 13,000 screaming fans!

It was truly a historic event for Boston as The Beatles performed only twice in our city. The other was in 1966 at the Suffolk Downs racetrack, which is one of only two times that The Beatles performed at a racetrack.

In the early hours of September 12^th, The Beatles arrived in Boston at roughly 3:00am at the Hanscom Base Airport. Their limousines traveled down Route 2, to the Fresh Pond Parkway (which was just blocks from my childhood home, unfortunately I was fast asleep). The entourage hopped onto Storrow Drive and they arrived at the Madison Hotel which was located right next to The Boston Garden.

The boys went immediately to their respective rooms to get some much-needed sleep. But they were up for that afternoon’s pre-show press conference and of course the concert!

The concert at the Boston Garden was the loudest show on their 1964 U.S. Tour! Fans were asked to throw confetti instead of Jelly Baby candies which was the norm back then and no doubt hurt John, Paul, George and Ringo!

Hundreds of fans were gathering outside of the Madison Hotel hoping The Beatles would show their mop top haircuts out of their hotel windows. But they were asked not to do so by the Boston Police as it would cause mayhem, as it had done in other cities.

We’re having a party to celebrate this historic event in Beatles history!
